There were three tables dedicated to children at the party. My son sat at the table where the ages ranged from six to eight. The hostess introduced all the kids to each other. Many, like my son, only knew the guest of honor and no other children. Once the introductions were made, I was so impressed how great everyone did! The children passed the bread and butter to each other. The waiter asked for their attention to share what was on the menu and each of them ordered for themselves. They were talking, participating in games, going to the dessert table and hitting the dance floor together.
It was the first time my son had an opportunity to sit at the kiddie table because he's finally old enough. I have not been to many parties where there is a separate childrens' table and thought this was a great idea. If I every host a party large enough, I will definitely have a dedicated kiddie table. It inspired me to find some ideas if I were to host children in my home for a party or holiday celebration.

Do you like the idea of a separate kiddie table? Do you prefer your children sit with you at a party or gathering for dinner?
