I Love This Quote . . .

You can never underestimate the power of a good quote. Quotes are inspirational.  They offer a sense of community and solidarity - knowing another has shared sentiments you are feeling.   When I come across quotes on motherhood, I enjoy reading them.  I wanted to share my favorite quote on motherhood.  It's quite simple actually, but to me it speaks volumes.

"There is no way to be a perfect mother, and a million ways to be a good one."  - Jill Churchill

I love this picture and often imagine it when I think of this quote.  Many of us put pressure on ourselves to make everything appear "perfect".  It is in the imperfect moments that memories are made. I remember the morning we took this picture.  My son isn't even looking at the camera.  I'm pretty sure my daughter is drooling.  Yes, my eyes are closed.  I love how my son is looking at his sister and my daughter's silliness is coming through.

Do you have any quotes that inspire you as a mother, wife or daughter?  Are there pictures that you find yourself looking at a little longer because they bring you back to a place - a moment of comfort and happiness?

  1. Great quote! This morning while reading the book "18 Minutes" I came across a quote from a mom whose child has autism and she said "I'm not the mother I planned to be, I'm the mother I have to be." Even though I'm not a mom yet, that resonated deeply with me.

  2. I love the poster that says good moms have sticky floors, dirty ovens, and happy kids. Story of my life. We make memories everyday and when things get done yay. Not a quote but something I reflect upon a lot.
